Well, dispite my better judgement, I will share the joke with you.
Death Note is a Japanese manga about a book (the death note) that if you write down someone's name in it, they will die 40 seconds afterwards from a heart attack. L is one of the characters in the manga.

Ok, it does now, and it's funnier than I thought it was in the first place. I've actually seen pics of that skeery Ryuk guy from the live-action version around the net, always wondered what it was about. And now I know!
